Who Will You Become?

Stop and look at your life.

Do you seen what everyone else sees? Or do you see someone totally different?

Think hard. Are you complete or are you still becoming?

As I was reading scripture, I came across this verse that puts into perspective everything that I've been feeling about my life up to this point. Maybe you can relate.

In speaking about Jesus' sacrifice for us, the author states that: For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. (Hebrews 10:14)

This is maybe deeper than I can explain but it's certainly true in every way.

The question that arose was, "if He has made me perfect, then why the need to be sanctified?"

It says of us that He has perfected [us] (meaning that it's already a done deal) and that we are being sanctified (meaning we are in the process of sanctification).

How can someone who is perfect and not be sanctified. And does that mean Jesus payment wasn't enough?

In essence, this is life. You know you're saved, called, and have been endowed with amazing creativity, potential, and curiosity, yet you feel like you're lacking still.

You're not wrong for feeling that way. You're not right either.

You just are.

This is our truth, that as leaders and chosen ones, we know we're set, we just have to get there.

If you feel like you're not complete then I applaud you. If you feel like you are then I applaud you too.

We have been made perfect AND are being sanctified.

Somedays I feel like I've been made perfect and my security and confidence in that is at an all-time high.

Somedays I feel like kicking myself in the gut for all the mistakes I made that day and realize it's part of the growing process.

So do not be discouraged.

As a leader you'll find yourself between this two parts of one whole truth. And I think that that is awesome.
